Farewell to the Iron Fey final tour stop

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the last stop on the Farewell to the Iron Fey blog tour.  I will say that, for me, its bittersweet to see the series coming to an end.  Back when I first started The Iron King, I had no idea the journey I would set out on, or where it would lead. I had no idea it would spawn a massive, magical world filled with characters who have become as familiar to me as my own family. Meghan, Ash, Puck, Ethan, Keirran, Kenzie, Razor, Grimalkin…they’ve become so much more than words on paper. They’ve become characters with entire histories, past lives, fears, triumphs, failures and legacies. And the world of the Iron Fey has grown beyond all my expectations.

So, to all my readers and fans, thank you.  For going on this journey with me.  For falling in love with and cheering on the characters, wherever their adventures take them.  For the tears that feed the ever gluttonous Muse. 😉  And mostly, for reading and talking about and sharing the love of the Iron Fey world and all its inhabitants, for as long as they are remembered, they will never fade.  They will, in their own way, have achieved a little bit of immortality.

So today, as we prepare to say goodbye, I have this awesome giveaway for you.  First, I have the entire set of The Iron Warrior chibi collection.  Keirran, Ethan, Kenzie and Razor, all chibi-fied, handmade from polymer clay by myself, and ready to go to one lucky winner.

I’m going to go with favorite book in the series and that would be The Iron Knight! I loved going on that epic journey with Ash and Puck (and Grimalkin)!

  2. Melissa Hernandez says: Reply

Ufff! It may be a little werid, but it was when Meghan gave up her life to save the Nevernever. It was such a powerful moment. Strating from when she made Ash leave, up to her dream with Machina. It was such an amazing moment, I loved it so much! It made me cry very very hard, and I thank you so much for writing this story and letting me meet your characters and learn their story. I’m sad to see it end, but at the same time, i feel like we made it!

Favorite moment? As in SINGLE FAVORTIE MOMENT??? I love when Ash and Puck work together to save Meghan; I love when Meghan shows everyone who’s boss because no one can stop a BAMF like her; I love the fact that Meghan’s journey started because she wanted to save her baby brother. This whole series is my favorite moment. Thanks so much, Ms. Kagawa!! <3

  4. When are you going to announced the winner??? On the day iron warrior is released??

  5. Suzanne Arimond says: Reply

Oh, gosh. I think my best memory would have to be the feeling I got when Ash finally was able to be
with Meghan after becoming mortal. The fact that someone would love someone so much they
would basically give up their life to be with that person gets me emotional, and the scene when
    they finally see each other…tears.

It’s hard for me to believe that I’ve gone through this entire series in the last basically 4 years. I’ve fallen in love with the characters as much as my own family, they pretty much are my imaginative family now. Your books helped me find my best friend (who I still talk to every day) and that alone is something amazing. When I first started this series I never imagined I could love and long for an adventure so much. Each book was a new adventure that I couldn’t put down, that I cried and laughed and pushed my way through to the end. These books helped me grow up and keep my inner child jump with joy at the same time. Thank you for an incredible journey with you and all of the extended family. 🙂

  7. My favorite Iron Fey memory, was when Ash bowed with his real name to protect Meghan. I cried on that. Seriously. It’s one of the most beautiful things that happened in the whole Iron Fey series. And The Iron Warrior isn’t here yet but I think I’m going to cry already. I had a one of the most beautiful and epic journeys while reading a novel through Iron Fey. Thank you, Julie. <3

So many memories. Probably would be Meghan first trip there and running into Prince ash in the forest. I love everything about these series and cannot wait to read the last one.

It hurts me to see such an amazing series come to an end. But as they say, all good things must come to an end. One of my favorite parts in the series (there’s so many!) was when Ethan ‘died’ at the end of Iron Traitor. I remember being in shock because I’ve never read a first person book before where the main character dies and the story ends. I was so scared thinking ‘no no no, he’s not really dead. There’s another book. He’s fine!’ But when there wasn’t news for a while I was worried thinking it really was the end and we’d never know what happened. Should have known better. Anyway, long story short. That mini heart attack I had while reading was one of the best moments.

I lovd the Iron Fey Series so much!!!!!!!!!! My favorite part was when Ash & Meghan were finally able to be together & when Ash got his soul. But of course I loved every book & every part. I also love how every book has an adventure in it. I love the adventure parts in the books!!!!! Thanks so much for the books Julie !!!!!!!!

My favorite memory is stumbling upon this series (really late in the game) and getting me out of my reading slump, the late nights staying up reading until my eyes would not open anymore, laughing, crying and falling in love with all the characters on their amazing journey. Ash’s journey to become human, when Meghan let Ash go and gave up her life, and anytime Grimalkin was around. Great Series.

Sooo nor ready to say good-bye!!! What an adventure though!!!

Favorite moment? The moment I discovered this serie. I love it. Everytime I read it, I feel happiness. I can’t wait to read the last book. Meghan, Puc, Ash and all the others became a family, not only for me, but also for my bestfriend.
Thank you Ms. Kagawa for writing my favorite bookseries and for being my favorite author.

I loved so many things in the Iron Fey series, but one of my favorite memories from it, was when Ash was going through the trials to become mortal. He saw his life lived out as a mortal and what that meant, and even through it all, he decided it was worth it to be with Meghan. Such a moving scene.

  19. I think the best moment that I never forget is when Ash en Meghan first kiss. I was (still am) verry jalous on Meghan. I mean, I’m in love with Ash! How dare she to steal my boy? Hahaha.
But I think that’s the moment that I will never forget, because I was almosy crying when I read that! I thought it was just perfect!

  20. Cali W. says: Reply

Thanks for the giveaway! It’s difficult to have a favorite moment because I have several. What I love the most is how the characters developed like Megan becoming an Iron Queen and Ash finding himself in the Iron Knight. And I can’t wait to see what happens to Ethan. Kenzie, and Keirran. 🙂

  21. When Ash decided to choose exil with Meghan over his life in the Winter Court.

  22. April says: Reply

I don’t know that I could choose a single moment. There were so many memorable moments. If I had to choose I think I would choose one where Ash was willing to give up his life and be with Meghan by choosing exile from the Winter Court.

when i read the first part! I fell in love with the story and the cover, so I had to recommend to my friends! and of course continue the series! <3

I think that the best thing that’s happened after I read the Iron Fey series is that it actually got me back into reading, and made me the reader that I am now. The thrill of the action and the mystery of the world really sucked me in that I wanted to read more and I think that the Iron Fey series was to thank for that. If it wasn’t for this series, I wouldn’t be the person that I am today so I’m really thankful to you Julie for creating such wonderful characters!

  25. Artemis Giote says: Reply

One of my favorite moments is when Meghan first meets Grim. Every moment when Grim is around.

  26. Rebecca Spain says: Reply

Gosh there are soooo many great memories of these books, they’re my absolute favourite series and will be forever with me! Wish I could visit the nevernever 🙂 My best memory has to be when they first dance at Elysium, the chemistry is electric!

  27. jello says: Reply

i loved every moment of the series especially moments with grimalkin! he’s my favorite character and cat!

    thanks for the giveaway 🙂

  28. Pretty much any moment with Grimalkin (am I spelling it right?! Can never remember how to spell his name)! And Puck! Both of them always had me laughing so hard I caused people to look over as I am reading in public! Dangerous times! LOL! 😉

  29. Kate Moreno says: Reply

Each book in series I have a different favourite moment/memory, and really it involves all of the characters at some point. But my overall favourite will always be when all the characters reunited with one another. When Ethan met Puck, Ash, saw Meghan again, Razor with McKenzie. The love that I have for these characters is not something that can easily be explained. At the end of the day, I love it when they are all together.

  30. Nena Yochim says: Reply

My favorite part about the entire series has to be seeing all the characters become who they are in the end. How Meghan went from a human/fey princess who knew nothing to a powerful Queen of the Fey, how Ash was always the “good soldier/son” to finding his own destiny and following his heart, and to Puck who started out with a hopeless love and being a traitorous best friend to finding a way to keep that girl he loves in his own way and regaining that friend once again. And no matter what happens in the Iron Warrior, they will find a way to be who they were meant to be in the end. And know that they can rely on each other during good and hard times.

I haven’t read this series yet, but I love the Talon series so far, so I can’t wait to start the Iron Fey series now.

  32. Nayeema Beegum says: Reply

Iron Knight. Hands down. That moment when Ash accepts the horrors of his past and the terrible mistakes he’s made and resolves to atone for his sins. It is a powerful resolution for him, especially in regards to his character, who for centuries never regretted the evils that fell from his hand. He only had regrets about his lost love but even for that he had to fall in love with her. Humanity, at its simplest, is being able to care for others and realize how your actions affect those around us. Ash being able to realize it is paramount. It is the little things like how he wants to let Ari and Puck know where he is and that he is okay just before the second trial and in that last moment, when Puck offers comfort by placing his hand on his shoulder and he accepted it unlike before.

  33. I am so excited for the last book, but sad to come to the end of what has been a fabulous ride. My favorite part of the series isn’t a scene from any of the books, but the fact that it has been wonderful to introduce so many readers to the series (I worked in a high school media center) and hear how much they have enjoyed the books too.

  34. Katja says: Reply

My favourite moment was the whole second book which I read instead of learning for my exam, just because the whole story became so lively while reading it. I passed the exam though 😉 And I always have to laugh when I see Julie Kagawa’s dragons on FB – on the background are always the german versions of the Iron Fey 😀 (I’m from Germany)

  35. Maria Rios says: Reply

My favorite memory of the iron fey series was in the Iron Queen. I loved it when Ash swore to be Meghan’s Knight. It was just a powerful.moment that I felt had to happen, because they had been through so much and their love for was real. From that vow it led to Ash going to the End of the world, to find a way to be with Meghan.

  36. Christine Moore says: Reply

I don’t think I can pick a favorite moment. I have loved all the books and I am sad the series is ending.

  37. Kathryn Carmichael says: Reply

The moment when Puck and Meg kissed even tho they didn’t end up together

  38. Tiffany Johnson says: Reply

I have loved this series period. If you’re forcing me to pick, I chose the love story between Megan and Ash, it hooked me from the start.

  39. Megan_Blue says: Reply

My favorite moment of the Iron Fey series would have to be the Iron Queen. I absolutely loved everything about how the book ended, I was so sad when Meghan forced Ash to leave, but loved how he promised he would find her. I am going to be sad to see the series come to a close.

Oh gosh, the entire series is my favorite memory, if I’m being honest. But if I HAD to choose a favorite memory, it would probably be Puck’s whole, “I wouldn’t defy Oberon for just anyone.” speech to Meghan. Just because I adore them together and they’ve always been my favorite pair honestly.

  48. Sarah C says: Reply

I love every moment when, despite being afraid and unsure, Meghan would realize her strength to believe in herself to get the job done. Also, every moment with Grim. 🙂

Oh, I just love the whole freaking series. Do I have to pick one thing? Can I name a few? I love Meghan and how tough she is on the inside, how brave and willing to go through crap she is for the people she loves. I really love Ethan’s story too. The protagonists just ended up being my favorite.

Wow. This is so crazy. I can’t believe that the Iron Fey series is coming to an end. This series has been one of my favorites that I have ever read. And believe me, I’ve read a lot. This series in particular though, grabbed me in a way that only one other has ever been able to do. It’s hard to pinpoint why or how, all I know is that it’s done a lot for me. Reading this story is what made me decide that I wanted to start writing again and that fantasy was the area that I’m most passionate about. I’ve recommended this series to all of my friends who read, and even teachers and family, as well. I’m not sure if it was Ash’s dark, mysterious persona or Puck’s bright attitude and unwavering loyalty. Maybe it was Grimalkin’s humour or the surprise waiting around every corner. Or maybe it was Meghan and her fierce spirit and driving passion for her friends, family, love, and future. Maybe it was her self-sacrifice at the end of Iron Queen, or Ash’s trip to the literal End of the World to obtain a soul to be with her in Iron Knight. Maybe it was none of those things or maybe it was all of them. All I know, is that from the moment I began The Iron King, I knew I was in for a wild ride, full of adventure and mystery, romance and friendship, and finally sacrifice. Not just in the book, but in real life as well. The sacrificing of my time and dedication to other things to read the first book and then continue the series, the sacrifice of Julie’s time and effort and sleep, and the sacrifice of everyone who has read to make this series as big as it has become. I can’t wait to see how this crazy story ends, Julie. Thank you.

I first discovered this series when looking through the goodreads suggested reading and read the first chapter on google books. It was 1 am and I adored how creepy the book started off as, the sense of… offness that it gave me was something I didn’t know I was missing in YA and fantasy until then. It got me to read the books and put them as one of my favorite series (tied with TID by Cassie Clare). I love thinking back about how I found the first book in this world by pure chance when I had nothing else to read. 😀

  61. It’s going to be so hard to say goodbye to this series. My favorite of all the books is The Iron Knight. But each of them are so truly amazing. It will be bittersweet to say goodbye. Julie, you are by far my favorite author. I just thought you should know that 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing such amazing stories with us. Two weeks…. 70. I certainly loved The Iron Knight, Julie! I remember when I read that book I wanted to cry because of how amazing it was. Please after this whole book franchise ends, make more series as good as the Iron Fey. You are a great author.

I love everything! Although, my favorite part/memory would be the chapter of Iron Prince where Puck, Ash and Grimalkin fight their own reflections that come out of the mirror! Especially the part where Grimalkin doesn’t fight his twin and they just watch the chaos is amazing, and it makes me crack up every time I read it!

I think my most favorite part of the Iron Fey series was when Meghan actually became queen. It was so rewarding to see her come so far from a normal character to then owning an entire kingdom.

I got it, read it & fell in love with so much that all the books have there own shelf together with only other books by you & my chibis that you made :). I love the whole series. I loved getting to know all the characters, exploring the Nevernever, learning about the creatures, and going on the multiple journeys the characters went through. I have many favorite moments but the moment that will always stand out to me is when Ash and his companions make it to the End of the World. Just everything that Ash and the others had to go through was surreal. All the sacrifices and obstacles they had to face was intense. I will miss the series but am very happy I got to go along with the journey.

One moment? There are so many to choose from: Ash making his vow; Meghan sacrificing herself for the Iron Kingdom; Puck admitting he looked forward to his duels with Ash, just to see his friend again. That being said, the best moment was the day I picked up The Iron King.

  82. I love the whole story.

One single moment? That’s so much pressure………… it would have to be when I found out that the series wasn’t going to end at book four and also basically the entire half of book four. I didn’t stop crying the entire time I read it, even when I had to take a break to drink some water. So rarely has a book made me feel like that, I was sure I was dying. I do cry a lot and feel a lot of intense emotions normally while reading, but reading The Iron Knight transcended that. That experience sort of cemented this series as an all time favorite of mine. I’ll never forget all these amazing characters I got to meet <3 this year I'm even dressing as Grim for Halloween!

  91. I love Ash and Meghan so much. Both are cute together. I feel bad for Puck because he love Meghan too. When Ash becomes a human does he die or live forever?
